TITUS
Description
Titus by William Shakespeare
Adapted by Ti Ames
We return to the City of Bones. We return to Africa. Titus returns home to Benin, triumphant only to find that life after a realization, a transformation, is much harder than he expected. Will he learn the lesson of SANKOFA? A man who refuses to get the thing he lost pays a price.
Ti Ames adapts arguably the first script W. Shakespeare ever wrote, to create the foundation of our story. CPG continues to explore the idea of SANKOFA, and uses this tale to interrogate what happens when we don't go back to get what we've forgotten. Jamahl Garrison-Lowe, fresh off his role as "Solly" in August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean, returns to CPG for his directing debut.
