Charlottesville High School Tour Lunch Campaign

03/08/2024 - 03/09/2024

Description

Fundraiser: GOAL: $3,000

Support 200 high school teenagers, hungry for local history!

On Friday, March 8th the combined 11th grade History and English classes at Charlottesville High School will spend the day at the JSAAHC. They’ll learn about the history of the Jefferson School (1866-1966) and talk directly with community members who have lived some of this history. They’ll also tour the Downtown Mall to see first hand the spaces that Black residents called home, and helped shape, for much of the 19th Century.

Funds raised will provide lunch for students and community volunteers at Pearl Island, a locally Black-owned restaurant in the Jefferson School.

Help keep history alive for the next generation.
